The Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS) is gearing up to launch an exciting new program called the State Showcase at its upcoming 2024 annual convention in Schaumburg, Illinois. This initiative aims to honor and celebrate the rich numismatic heritage of all 13 states within the CSNS region.
Tribute to Iowa
Kicking off the State Showcase is the state of Iowa, which will be the first to be recognized at the convention. CSNS President Mitch Ernst announced that the first 3,000 convention visitors will receive mint condition 2004 Iowa state commemorative quarter-dollars, generously donated by Christopher’s Rare Coins in Johnston, Iowa.
Token of Appreciation
Each visitor will receive one coin, encapsulated by ANACS with a special insert label commemorating the CSNS 85th Anniversary Convention and celebrating Iowa’s numismatic legacy.

Chris Seuntjens, president of Christopher’s Rare Coins, emphasized the enthusiasm within the Iowa Numismatic Association (INA) and invited visitors to their booth to learn more about their contributions to the hobby.
The Newman Numismatic Portal will host educational programs as part of the State Showcase, featuring speakers from various numismatic organizations and experts in the field. Attendees can expect engaging presentations on Iowa’s numismatic history and its significance in the broader hobby.
